"Christ's perfect triumph"

Following on from yesterday's post, Sparrow in his commentary on the Prayer Book provision for the Ascension likewise draws attention to the daily celebration of its salvific significance in the Te Deum:

This day was Christs perfect triumph over the Devil, Leading captivity captive, Ephes. 4. 8. This day He opened the kingdom of Heaven to all believers, as we say daily in the Te Deum.
